About Me:
Google me, and when you see all the places my name pops up, you'll begin to gather what sort of non-standard, eclectic chick I am. I was quite recently a full-time non-traditional student in the Anthropology Department at Brandeis University (a school I remain very proud of). I am a writer for fun , but I also wrote articles for the Brandeis student-run newspaper, which shows I am active in my community. I am a mediocre to poor athlete, but I do it anyway. I have a crazy fun family who loves to climb on web-based soapboxes just as often as they like to tell stories. I prefer to draw, but recently I made an attempt at oil painting (one I despised the most became my previous Zaadz profile image). I was also active in my federal employee community, when I worked eleven years forecasting weather for the National Weather Service after I served my four years in the Air Force. I'm always interested in learning more about myself and about others. I boost others when I can. I love meeting other people, which I manage to do in real life, and on line through Bebo, Facebook, Friendster, and of course, Zaadz. I designed and built an awesome webpage for the Brandeis politics department. I also had fun building my own webpage. And I'm listed as an observer in a mediation session, while I was gaining some training and experience in what I hope will be a future career.
….so anyway, I've embraced digital webosity, and I sort of agree with Thomas Friedman that the World Is becoming Flat.
(Thanks to deMystic for the MBTI idea….)
Myers-Briggs Type: INTJ
To outsiders, INTJ self-confidence is sometimes mistaken for simple arrogance. We are idea people. Anything is possible; everything is negotiable. Paradoxes and other contradictory phenomena amuse some INTJs when they feel someone may be taking a particular view too seriously. We enjoy developing unique solutions to complex problems, and we are perfectionists, with a seemingly endless capacity for improving upon anything that takes our interest. What prevents us from becoming chronically bogged down in this pursuit of perfection is that we constantly ask: “Does it work?” This frees us from the constraints of authority (ha!), convention, or sentiment for its own sake.
While INTJs are capable of caring deeply for others (usually a select few), and are willing to spend a great deal of time and effort on a relationship, many INTJs do not readily grasp social rituals. Anyone considered to be “slacking,” including superiors, will lose our respect - and will generally be made aware of this. Our challenge can be to recall that others should not be judged by our standards only. To complicate matters, INTJs are usually extremely private people. We do not always have natural empathy, but make up for it by synthesizing the probable meanings behind such things as tone of voice, turn of phrase, and facial expression. These skills can be honed to help INTJs develop extraordinary communications skills and strong relationships.
